Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy
Con Brio is an Italian musical term meaning "with spirit," or "with vigor."
At Con Brio, our philosophy is simple: music is fun. We believe in musical excellence, discipline, technique, and performance. We believe in the importance of setting personal goals and in establishing the necessary structure to attain them. We believe in the value of all of these means, but only to the extent that they serve our end: Do our students love music? The number one priority of Con Brio is not to teach music, but to teach people. There are many styles of music and many more styles of learning. It is our goal to make use of musical genres from classical to rock, jazz or pop, and to make use of teaching methods from the academic "conservatory" approach to methods of learning by ear, by rote, or by improvisation. A music lesson is a collaboration between a teacher and a student, each of whom bring individual experiences, knowledge, personality and passion to the art of making music. Music with spirit: May Con Brio be forever bustling with the energy of our instructors as they inspire confidence in others both as musicians and as individuals. Music for life: May our students always love music, and may it be forever enriching their lives.
