Early Childhood Music Classes
About our classes...
Our Early Childhood music classes with Neala are founded upon these fundamental beliefs:
Every parent is the child's most important teacher.
Every child is musical.
Music nurtures a child's cognitive, emotional, social, language, and physical development.
Every child should experience the joy, fun, and learning which music brings to life.
These skills are explored through play and through child centered activities which then gives families the confidence to explore music together at home. These parent participation music classes at Con Brio Music School are about encouraging families to experience the joy of music together. Songs and dances that we learn in class are available to borrow on cds and a new curriculum is explored for each session.
Kodaly Classes are an entry level group music class suitable for children ages three to Grade One. While emphasis is on singing, games, basic rhythm instruments and fun, as children gain experience a shift to music literacy occurs at the kindergarten level. Rhythm instruments and drum play, singing in tune, and phrasing are concepts of music taught to preschool age children, while they have lots of fun with games and movement. Reading and writing rhythms, playing recorder, more complex song material, dances as well as rhythm instruments and games are taught the kindergarten and grade one students.
